the problem

In plain words

a and b are non-negative numbers written in binary, as strings of '0' and '1'. Return their sum, also as a binary string.

in a = "11", b = "1"

out "100"

3 + 1 = 4.

in a = "1010", b = "1011"

out "10101"

10 + 11 = 21.

  • 1 ≤ a.length, b.length ≤ 10⁴
  • Only the characters '0' and '1'
  • No leading zeros, except the number "0" itself

Solve it in the browser

LeetCode-style: complete the class. Compiled by the real javac (Java 17) and judged right here — nothing is sent anywhere.

Solutions are hidden so you can try first. Even 20 minutes of real effort makes the answer stick far better than reading it.

Marking the problem solved, or opening every hint, also shows it.
